Braided rugs are absolutely gorgeous in just about any room in your home, and like oriental rugs, add character to almost any décor. It’s interesting to see how a rug is braided. Braided rugs usually started by tearing or cutting wool fabric into strips and sewing the pieces together in long lines and rolling up the strips so they are convenient to work with. When the pieces are joined together, usually with a strong thread, because such attention to detail is taken the lacing never shows. Available in many different shapes and sizes, oriental rugs as well as braided rugs will come in square, rectangle, hexagon, round, oval, octagon, and even heart-shaped designs. If you have time on your hands and would like to learn a new hobby, braiding rugs is a tremendous hobby!
